This course builds on the basic foundation of the ninth-grade core program. This means during your sophomore year you will have room in your schedule to take an elective course of your choosing. Therefore, the DPIE course will satisfy your second year PE requirement. Please be aware that the state of California mandates that all freshman MUST take PE during their freshman year. Students who will be in 9th grade in the 2021 – 2022 school year are allowed to enroll in the DPIE Physical Education course this summer. Length: June 2 – June 17 and June 21 – J(3 or 6 weeks) You do not need district approval to take a DPIE High School Summer course for enrichment. Please be aware that DPIE has a strict “NO REFUND” policy, therefore, we strongly recommend you wait to hear from the DHS Counseling Department regarding your Alternate Credit Application request prior to enrolling in our program. They will also need a DUSD student email and their Clever login information to join their teacher’s Google Classroom and Big Ideas Classroom.Students will need a computer with a webcam, internet, and a camera phone to submit assignments.Students will learn the basics of geometry and its language, reasoning skills and methods of proof, shapes of two and three dimensions and their properties and size measurements, similarity, geometric probability, and transformations.Ĩ0% - Assessments (all quizzes, tests, mid-term & final) All California Standards for Geometry are included in the curriculum. Understanding and applying geometry theorems and definitions is expected. This course is a Dublin High School graduation requirement. Prerequisites/Essential Skills: Successful completion of Algebra 1 or Advanced Algebra Completion of the supplemental lab training is mandatory in order to pass the DPIE Biology course.
Supplemental lab technique, lab safety, and lab equipment will be provided to prepare the students for Honors Chemistry. Students will go through the same process of utilizing the scientific method and critical thinking process to complete each lab. Late work may be turned in up until the assessment for the current unit with a to-be-determined number of points deducted.Īll labs will be done digitally this year.

No late work will be accepted for full credit. Homework is due by 8:30 am on the next day unless otherwise noted. Homework is assigned daily and is intended as further practice of concepts being learned in class. (All of these items should be accessible every day).
Students will be expected to read at or above grade level and to be capable of independent work. During the six-week course, students learn about life on a cellular level and the interaction of organisms with each other and the environment. Biology introduces students to the study of life.
